Rogue's Preparation Specialization turns your Ultimate into a full cooldown-reset engine - Diablo IV Season 15 mechanics

Casting your Ultimate Skill while running the Preparation Specialization both cuts 4 seconds off the Ultimate's own cooldown AND resets every other skill's cooldown, rewarding fast-cycling, high-Energy-spend playstyles that can trigger the Ultimate unusually often.

Detail

This creates a positive feedback loop distinct from simple CDR stacking: the faster you can re-trigger the Ultimate, the more often you get free resets on your other cooldowns, which in turn helps you re-trigger the Ultimate again sooner. 3.2.1 specifically fixed a bug where Preparation was not granting its intended Damage Reduction component, so the defensive half of this loop is newly reliable this season.

Why it works

The Specialization directly ties Ultimate-cast frequency to global cooldown state rather than routing through the normal inverse-multiplicative CDR formula, making it a fundamentally different (and more snowball-prone) uptime mechanism than stacking CDR affixes.

Numbers

4 seconds of self-cooldown-reduction per Ultimate cast, plus a full reset of all other skill cooldowns.

How to use it

Build Energy generation and Ultimate-cooldown reduction together (rather than either alone) to maximize how often this reset loop triggers per minute of gameplay.
