Long-standing community testing found Necromancer/Druid minions inherit roughly 30% of specific player stats (bonus Crit Chance, bonus Close/Distant Damage, and similar), not your full character sheet - meaning most of your own gear's damage stats only 'double dip' into minion damage at a steep 30% rate, if at all.
A minion build owner who gears purely by their own tooltip damage number is systematically overrating their build, because a large share of that number never reaches the minions actually dealing the damage. This is complicated further by a live, unresolved community dispute over whether recent patches raised inheritance to 100% for some or all stats (see gaps).
Minions have their own separate damage calculation that only imports a subset of the player's stat sheet at a fixed conversion rate rather than sharing the player's full multiplier chain outright.
Historically cited figure: minions gain 30% of the player's bonus Critical Strike Chance and bonus Close/Distant Damage; some tempering affixes let minions inherit a further 10-20% of Thorns specifically.
For a minion-focused build, verify which specific stats your minions actually inherit before overloading gear with Crit Chance/Attack Speed that may only partially transfer; Season 15 guidance explicitly warns to watch for overcapping stats that minions receive at higher rates than expected (see trap_minion_gear_overinvestment).
